Supply chain controls & traceability · 2026
One product, several days, four systems
Leading cross-company problem solving on traceability, and closing control gaps between production, quality and the warehouse.
Business context
A new export product made across multiple days raised a traceability question that spanned ODL, Scale, Oracle and ProDoc — and several teams who each owned part of the answer.
Challenge
Bring Quality, ODL, Warehouse and Documentation to a decision without compromising traceability, audit, data integrity or revenue recognition.
My role
Led the cross-company problem solving as the Digital subject-matter expert.
What I did
- Mapped the traceability, audit, data and revenue-recognition risks across ODL, Scale, Oracle and ProDoc.
- Set out five options for Quality, ODL, Warehouse and Documentation to decide between.
- Closed a related quality-control gap: stock made by ODL was being received as available before quality release. Defined new receiving rules with Quality, Supply Chain and Operations.
- Designed corrected net and gross weight logic for export documents in ProDoc, and tested it in UAT before it went to production.
- Identified automation opportunities in the ODL-to-Westland intercompany process, and proposed Power BI reporting to replace spreadsheet tracking.
Systems involved
- Scale WMS
- Oracle E-Business Suite
- ProDoc
- Power BI
Outcome & business impact
- Teams across two companies given clear, risk-assessed options instead of an open-ended problem.
- Quality-release gap closed with new receiving rules.
- Corrected export-document weights tested in UAT before reaching production.
- Automation opportunities identified that could save significant manual effort each month.
