Group ERP & WMS rollout · 2025 – 2026

Bringing Canary on board — without breaking Westland

A group business rolled onto ERP and WMS, with a critical production risk caught before go-live.

Business context

Canary (YOBD), part of the Yili Oceania group, went through an ERP and WMS rollout that touched systems Westland depends on every day.

Challenge

Deliver the rollout without disrupting Westland’s live operations, and make sure the interfaces still worked properly once Canary was running.

My role

Key Digital contributor on the rollout. [Confirm: Digital lead, or one of several leads]

What I did

  • Set up the project team space and shared the solution blueprint.
  • Before go-live, found a critical risk: Canary files were pointing to the Westland production system.
  • Recommended full regression testing to my manager, then led the team in writing regression test scripts and running the testing.
  • After the rollout, found operating-unit design issues affecting the CRM and S&OP interfaces, and proposed fixes for both.
  • Named by my manager to help lead the process and system analysis for moving butter production to Canary.

Systems involved

  • Oracle E-Business Suite
  • WMS
  • CRM
  • S&OP

Outcome & business impact

  • The Canary rollout went ahead without disrupting Westland operations.
  • Interface design issues surfaced early, each with a proposed fix.
