Getting the warehouse ready for MultiPick

Leading the business side of a WMS replacement — finding the gaps in design, not on the warehouse floor.

Business context

The business is replacing its warehouse management system with MultiPick, working with the ERP implementation partner and the MultiPick vendor.

Challenge

A WMS touches almost everything — sales orders, inventory, purchasing, quality and export documentation. Gaps missed in design turn into operational problems after go-live.

My role

Key business and Digital lead, and the main link between the business, the ERP implementation partner and the MultiPick vendor to get the business ready for the rollout.

What I did

  • Ran gap analysis across Sales, Inventory, Purchasing, Warehouse, Quality and Documentation.
  • Ran design workshops on sales orders, OMAR, 3PL and ProDoc.
  • Flagged early risks in Oracle-to-warehouse mapping, multi-warehouse PO receiving and the ProDoc integration.
  • Challenged the vendor’s development plan to clarify what UAT covered and whether interfaces were in scope.

Systems involved

  • MultiPick WMS
  • Oracle E-Business Suite
  • ProDoc
  • 3PL integration

Outcome & business impact

  • Process, integration and control gaps identified during design rather than after go-live.
  • Test coverage protected by getting UAT and interface scope clarified up front.
  • [Add go-live date and outcome once delivered]
